You’re safe with us
Of course, making sure you are comfortable is only a part of the equation; your safety is also a top priority. Our team closely monitors your vital signs, oxygen levels, and blood pressure with leading technology. You are in good hands with the Centrepointe Dental team!
To further ensure your safety, we recommend having a friend, partner or family member attend your appointment with you, as some sedation practices have slightly longer-lasting effects that make it unsafe to drive.
Types of dental sedation
Sometimes, there may be some uncertainties associated with the actual sedation process itself.
Not to worry – review our list of sedation options below to learn more about how they work.
Inhalation sedation with nitrous oxide
Just breathe, you’ve got this! This approach may be better known as “laughing gas”, which is administered through the safe inhalation of a mask. The mask is gently placed over the nose and mouth, allowing the “laughing gas”, combined with oxygen, to flow through your respiratory system. The result is a feeling of deep relaxation, putting you at ease throughout your treatment.
Oral conscious sedation
For patients who may have a fear of needles, our oral conscious sedation approach is the needle-free alternative, allowing patients to achieve deep relaxation through the consumption of a small pill.
Intravenous sedation (IV)
If needles aren’t of concern, then intravenous sedation is a great option that provides the benefits of comfort with a much quicker efficacy. Depending on the needs of each patient, different levels of sedation can be provided.
Sedation options tailored to your needs
We take the time to learn about your unique needs and determine your required sedation level. This allows us to offer you a completely tailored approach to your visit. Whether it’s mild sedation to put your anxiety at ease during your cleaning, or other painless methods, like oral conscious sedation or inhaled gas to put you at ease in the presence of needles, we have many types of sedation to improve your overall experience.
