Root canal therapy
Dental nerves can get infected, causing pain and discomfort. Our staff will help get to the root of the problem.
With all the crevices of the teeth and gums, sometimes cavities can form in places that we just cannot see. If this is the case and a cavity is left unaddressed for too long, it will grow in size and cause more problems, eventually growing until it reaches the root of the tooth.
Root canal therapy is the perfect solution to absolving you of deep pain caused by damaged roots inside your teeth.

Root canal therapy: explained
The root is the soft piece of tissue with blood vessels and nerve endings inside each and every one of our teeth.
If an already receding gum line is left unaddressed, the root of a tooth can eventually become exposed, leading to potential infections or significantly increased sensitivity of the tooth.
Our root canal therapy procedure consists of removing the damaged or infected root in order to restore the tooth’s health and strength. The procedure is quick and painless, and can often be done in a single visit.
As with all of our services, we also offer dental sedation options to patients who may feel uneasy about the entire process.
Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
about root canal therapy

When a root canal is needed, patients will feel mild to severe sensitivity in one or more of their teeth, however, swollen gums or darkening teeth are also telltale signs that one may need a root canal. A thorough dental examination will determine if this is the case.

If you have undergone one of our sedation dentistry options, we strongly advise you to be accompanied by a friend or family member as a safe and reliable method of getting home.

What happens if I choose not to get a dentist-recommended root canal?
Infections spread, and tooth infections are no exception! If you have an infected root, it should be handled with care and should be addressed, otherwise, the infection can spread to the jaw bone and could result in the complete loss of a tooth. The infection could also spread to the rest of the body and pose life-threatening problems. It is not advisable to ignore an infected root!
What is the root canal process?
The process starts with a local anesthetic being applied to the affected area. Once the area is completely numb, your dentist will extract the root at the centre of the tooth by creating a very small hole in the tooth.
The tooth is then thoroughly cleaned out before being completely filled in with gutta-percha, a very effective, safe and biocompatible substance that has proven to be the trusted method for many years, by many leading dentists.
Then to finish it all off, the tooth is then fully sealed – all within a single visit.
